What is the Diversity Program?


“Diversity” is a support group for young people who identify as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex or Queer (and their friends) who reside in, or who frequent services in, the City of Greater Shepparton and surrounds, who are experiencing anxiety, depression or other significant mental health issues, which is impacting on their quality of life.


What we do


The Diversity Program aims to improve  health outcomes for clients through provision of structured and socially based activities.


The activities may include:

 • Group based discussions; on

 • Relevant issues

 • Health promotion

 • Harm minimisation

 • Safety

 • Relationships


Social Activities:

 • Cafes

 • Movies

 • Festivals

 • Walks


A strong focus of the Diversity Program is  to provide advocacy and referrals to other  relevant services. The Diversity Program can also assist with the learning or relearning of daily living  skills and provide support with accessing education and training.



The Office For Youth funds this program. There are no fees charged by the program.

A contribution may be requested for some activities arranged by your support worker.
